"Who do you think will be the first jumper?" I casually asked Lauren.
"Probably some know it all from Erudite"
"No I doubt that," I said. "An Erudite will be too busy analyzing the different factors of jumping off the building. It'll probably be a Candor, they don't seem to think when they speak, maybe the whole nonthinking thing will transfer over to their actions." Before Lauren had the time to comment on my babbles about Candor, I saw a flash of gray falling towards the net. My body tensed up. What was this?! It couldn't possibly be someone from Abnegation, it had to be just the blur of the black and white Candor outfit mixing together.
A small body landed on the mat and I had to face the fact that the first jumper was in fact from Abnegation. My heart starts to speed up, what if she recognizes me? I came to Dauntless to escape my old life and now this reminder of what used to be all of a sudden just shows up? A memory of my dad pops into my head and his voice echos in my brain "This is for your own-" A faint laughter from the girl starts, releasing me from my traumatizing memory. I sigh in relief. I look down to wear the laughter came from. The girl was uncovering her face and starting to shake.
As I could start to see her features I had to take a double take. My heart was starting to race again but not like the way it does when I think of my father or enter into any other part of my fear landscape. I had to hide a smile that came across my face. I don't know what it was about this girl. She seemed plain just like every other member of Abnegation, but there was something about her, I couldn't quite put my finger on it but there was something about her that made her pretty.
I see the girl start to struggle to get up and I reach out to the girl as, as does Lauren but she grabs my hand. She starts to stumble and I catch her, I can't let this girl hurt herself in any way. I want to protect her.
I shake my head, where were these thoughts coming from?
She looks up and I see her striking gray-blue eyes. As much as I want to continue to hold onto her arms for much longer, I let go, I have to act professional here.
"I can't believe it," Lauren says smirking at the girl, "A stiff, the first to jump? Unheard of.
"There's a reason why she left them, Lauren" I growl lowly. Where was this coming from, why was I all of a sudden getting defense of? I look over at the girl. "What's your name." I ask it not because it needs to be recorded and announced, but because I need to know it. This girl is, special. She needs to have a name claim in my mind, not just "the girl."
"Um..."
I laugh a little, she jumped off a building, no problem but she gets nervous answering the simplest of all questions. Yup she for sure is one of a kind. Maybe we have more in common then I'd thought. Maybe she's ashamed of who she is like me.
"Tris." Even her voice was striking, it seemed to have a ring to it.
"Tris" Lauren said grinning "Make the announcement Four."
I looked over my shoulder to the Dauntless people. As much as I wanted to keep the name to myself, I knew I couldn't. But oh so bad I wanted to be the only one to know this information. I wanted Tris to be all mine.
"First Jumper- Tris!" I sighed very quietly for no one else to hear. I had to get more information, for some reason I wanted to get to know this girl better than the others.
I hear the shouts and screams as another girl starts to come flying down. But my focus is all on Tris. I dare to set my hands on her back. "Welcome to Dauntless

Divergent: Tobias' POV
Part 1: Chapter 1, pgs. 1-7
I rub my eyes with my forefinger and thumb. Blue light floods through the tiny window next to my bed; the sun hasn’t yet risen. I have a couple more hours left, so I roll onto my left side, away from the window, even though I know it’s completely useless. I let my mind wander over everything, over everything that’s soon to come. Today is the day the sixteen-year-olds of every faction go through an aptitude test, determining which faction they belong to best. Today is the day some of their lives may change, when some of them may leave their families forever, not looking back.

Part 3: Chapter 7, pgs. 62-69
Lauren and the Dauntless born initiates dissolve into the shadows, and I turn towards the faction transfers, scrutinizing each one of them in turn. Half are from Erudite. The other half is from Candor, oddly enough. Maybe it requires bravery to be honest all the time. I wouldn’t know.
I keep my face placid, no emotion. That is my best armour, and it alone is enough for them to know that I’m not one to be messed with.

Flirting (A Divergent fanfic pt 2)
"Nice fall, Stiff," somebody says ahead of me. An Erudite girl. The scattered chorus of laughter following her words erases the grin off my face. Like it never happened. Maybe it didn't.
Stiff. Obviously I'm not Abnegation anymore; there's no need for that nickname. It makes her little joke unintelligent, and the people who laughed at it even more so. I don't respond. I only stare at her, my face firm. Let her know with my eyes that I'm no Stiff.
She rolls her shoulders. Tosses her bangs with a jerk of her head. Looks away uncomfortably. She got the message.
"Okay, children," a man on the edge of the building announces. The wind throwing i
